I had a weird ass dream last night
So I guess it was a twist on Sleeping Beauty. The dark fairy put the girl to sleep out of jealousy because they we're both in love with the same prince. And just so True Love's Kiss could never wake her up (fairy tale contract) the fairy cursed the prince by turning him into a beast and mentally torturing him by making him her pet.
So the only way to cure the beast is the fruit from a tree that no longer exists (but they manage to find a seed for) but it only grows under certain conditions so they have to find the resources for it.
Meanwhile the dark fairy is sending undead, dragons, and ogres after them
